The Niagara Junior Tour stopped at Willodell Golf Club in Niagara Falls on Friday, July 24th under beautiful sunny skies and the course was in tremendous shape for the players. Chuck Gates and Mario Caputo were gracious hosts and welcomed the kids and we thank them very much. There was some great golf played

Under 19 Division

michaelathoesmMichael Athoe of Bridgewater broke through into the winner circle on Friday firing a one under par 71 to capture the Under 19 and the Under 17 divisions. A member of Team Niagara, Michael used a string of 3 birdies on holes 2, 3, and 4 to fire nines of 35 – 36 to win by 2 shots over Jake Dupuis and Ryan Gizzie, both of St, Catharines.

Tied for fourth Andrew Hudencial, Andrew Pauls, Tyler Keenan and Chris Mostert.

 

 

Under 17 Division

michaelathoeswingAs stated above Michael also captured the Under 17 division.

Second was shared by Sparky MacLean and Ben Simmonds, both of St. Catharines Golf & Country Club and fourth was Ethan Bennett of Twenty Valley.

 

 

 

 

Under 15 Division

jasonmaloneysmJason Maloney made it two in a row in the Under 15 division with another sub par round firing a 3 under par 69 with nines of 34- 35 to win by three strokes over Jack Day who posted an even par 72. Third spot was Ethan Siebert at 73 and fourth was Jordan Antonucci at 78

 

 

 

 

Girls Division

sukritismSukriti Harjai of St. Catharines Golf & Country Club made it three different winners so far in the Girls Division when she fired an 80 to win the event by one stroke over Emily Ward of Rolling Meadows. Susan Leone of Beechwood was third at 84 and rounding out the top 4 was Kayla Burke of Whisky Run at 88.

Both Sukriti and Emily will be representing Ontario in the Ontario-Quebec matches next week. Good luck girls.

 

Under 13 Division

benmacleanrockwaysmBen MacLean of Eagle Valley made it three for three on Friday at Willodell as he fired a very impressive even par round of 72 to capture this division by a whopping 8 strokes over Nolan Piazza at 80. Adam Caligiuri was third at 88 and tied  fourth was Andrew Scott and Noah Sloan at 90.

There were five players missing on Friday as they made the cut at the Ontario Under 19 Junior Boys Championship. Congratulations to all 10 players who competed and represented Niagara.
