The Niagara Junior Tour was hosted by the beautiful Sawmill Golf Course on Wednesday, August 9th under sunny skies and the course was in tremendous shape. Many thanks go out to Jeremy and Carrie Julie who go out of their way to make the kids feel at home and a huge supporters of Junior Golf in Niagara. All the staff were terrific and it was nice to see George Julie, founder of Sawmill, out watching some of the kids.
Sammy Rootes was victorious again in the Under 13 division carding a score of 76 as this time he beat rival Isaiah Ellis by two strokes who carded a 78. Anthony Sartor was alone in third spot at 88, fourth was Hudson Mielko at 96 and rounding out the top five was Michael Martel at 99.
Nolan Piazza took home the victory in the Under 15 division shooting a score of 76 over the challenging Sawmill layout to win by three strokes over Luke Delgobbo at 79. Third place was a tie between Adam Caligiuri and Blake McGowan at 82 and tied for fifth was Andrew Scott and Bradyn Wark at 83.
R. J. Derhodge was low in the Under 17 division carding a score of 77. Second place went to Blake Pingue at 80, third was Jason Maloney at 82, fourth was Joshua Holjak at 84 and rounding out the top five was Jared Sloan at 85.
U17 & U 19 Division
Andrew Noble was victorious at Sawmill carding a score of 73 narrowing escaping a two shot penalty for being late mainly due to the runner up Ethan Bennett, who lobbied to get the penalty overruled, after he came in with a 74. Third place was R. J. Derhodge at 77, fourth was Michael Athoe at 78 and fifth was Jack Allan at 79
Sukriti Harjai won the Girls division at Sawmill shooting a fine score of 76 to win by three strokes over two players, Taylor Simoneau and Susan Leone at 79. Fourth was Kayla Burke at 82 and fifth was Payton Bennett at 83.
