Eric MacLean of St. Catharines Golf & Country Club captured the latest stop on the Niagara Junior Tour at Grand Niagara Golf Course on Tuesday, July 22nd shooting a one over par 73 on the beautiful well conditioned layout. This was Eric’s first victory on the Junior Tour as he strung together nines of 35-38 for a two stroke victory over three players, Coleman Drummond, James Martin and Drew Athoe who all came in with 75’s. Another shot back was Matt Persia at 76.
Under 15 Division
Sparky MacLean of St. Catharines Golf & Country Club made it a brother double by winning the Under 15 Division at Grand Niagara. Sparky had consistent nines of 36-36 to shoot even par on the challenging layout. That score was good enough for a 6 shot victory over Ethan Bennett of Twenty Valley who carded a 78. Next was Michael Athoe at 81, Ethan Siebert at 82 and rounding out the top five was Andrew Noble at 83.
Madeline Marck-Sherk of Bridgewater, coming of her impressive 10th place finish at the Ontario Junior Girls Championship, captured the Grand Niagara stop shooting a fine 75. Posting nines of 38= 37 she edged Alexandra Taylor by 2 shots. Well back but tied for third were Sukriti Harjai and Susan Leone who both shot 89. Rounding out the top 5 was Courtney White at 94.
Under 13 Division
Nolan Piazza captured the Under 13 Division at Grand Niagara firing nines of 45-51 for 96 and a 6 shot cushion over runner-up Noah Sloan. Just behind Noah was Adam Calaguiri.
